A Couple of Saipan Ministry Days

I have spent a lot of Father's Days on the islands over the last 20+ years: Guam, Saipan, Chuuk, and the Philippines.  This year was Saipan.

I actually didn't expect any men to come to church that day.  (The couple of men who do attend the church are off island with their families.)  But we had a visitor who had seen the new church sign walking by the week before, so he and his daughter visited.  Of course, we had gifts for our fathers! (All the kids took one home for their dads.)

On Tuesday, we had our second Summer Movie & Bible study day.  We took the kids to see Angry Birds 2. (I had not seen Angry Birds original...or played the game, but I guess it wasn't necessary to have a background in Angry Birds history.)

After the movie, we had a very popular meal of corn dogs. (Who knew they were so loved!?) Here are the girls hiding from the camera. (Ha! Like they're shy.)

Our Bible story went along with the movie and was about how God doesn't necessarily want us to be angry and how we should love our neighbor.

We made windchimes that had a bird on it to remind us of today's lesson. The craft said "God is with you always" (or something like that).

We played a game that we made up that ended up being popular.  Like in angry birds, we were slinging bird eggs (aka ping pong balls) into various buckets with different points. The first round was on flat ground...the second round was from the second story.

Twas a fun couple of days!
